By working with an Advocate, you are able to understand your rights and learn how to access appropriate supports and services for your child.
Additionally, the following services are provided:
- Obtaining school records and interpreting the educational data
- Educational program assessment
- Identifying areas of concerns
- Assistance with transition from early intervention to preschool services
- Aiding families in the Individualized Educational Program (IEP) process
- Advising parents of alternative placements
- Assistance with district funded residential placements (including out of state placements)
- Monitoring classroom programs and school services
- Accompanying and advising families through the Due Process system
- Alternative Dispute Resolution
- Informal Meetings
- Mediation Conferences
- Administrative Hearings
